Arena Breakout Infinite Punishes Cheaters With 10-Year Ban

Cheating is the biggest threat for any multiplayer game now, and developers need to have transparency in how they protect games against cheaters and take action, which is why we see most multiplayer games have a monthly or quarterly report on cheater bans.

For Arena Breakout Infinite, this data is shared after the closed beta conclusion, as the developer revealed that they have banned nearly 30,000 cheaters since the beta launched, with over 20,000 of those accounts banned for 10 years, or almost permanently.

Just between June 8 and June 23, the developer detected over 200 cheating tools and countered 32 of them. Of course, this still leaves a lot to work on to find a way to improve the anti-cheat system and counter the remaining cheating tools as well. Because when counter a cheating method, you eliminate its effectiveness from the game, rather than letting the cheater ruin multiple matches and then ban them.

Aside from fighting cheaters, Arena Breakout Infinite also shared a little insight into preventing toxicity in the game, revealing that they have intercepted over 84,000 inappropriate messages. Of course, this is only about text chat, while we know there are a lot of abusers who use voice chat for their toxic approaches.

Arena Breakout Infinite started earlier in May 2024 and concluded last week on June 28. For now, the developer has not shared any information on when we can expect the game to be fully released if there is going to be no more beta testing.

The closed beta for Arena Breakout Infinite started amid the Escape From Tarkov turmoil, which allowed the game to receive a lot of attention at the time. Of course, Tarkov developers did compensate for their over-the-top behavior and gave the community what they wanted, but they also gave a lot of unwanted credit to their new competitor.

Arena Breakout Infinite will launch as a free-to-play experience with a gameplay loop quite similar to that of Escape From Tarkov, though it tries to be less punishing than Tarkov while offering some new creative game modes.

It remains unknown how the future will change for Arena Breakout Infinite, but the beta version proved it has a solid gameplay approach that could indeed challenge Tarkov.

Using its very own Ace Anti-Cheat, Arena Breakout Infinite has a good amount of time to work on improving its cheat detection engine, and release a game with the least vulnerability against cheaters, something Escape From Tarkov is not successful with using the BattlEye anti-cheat.
