Arena Breakout Infinite Locks In Closed Beta Release Date

by Cole Phelps

It was only a few weeks earlier when Arena Breakout Infinite was announced for PC as a Tarkov-inspired shooter, and now the game receives its first gameplay trailer with a release date for the first Closed Beta session.

Coming to Steam as a free-to-play experience, Arena Breakout Infinite is probably the biggest rival that Escape From Tarkov has ever had, knowing that a company as big as Tencent is behind this project.

The Closed Beta will begin on May 8, 2024. If you have not registered yet, there is still time to put your name on the list via this link for a chance to be invited to the closed beta. You will be notified via email if you are selected for the upcoming test session.

Based on what we saw from Arena Breakout Infinite in today’s gameplay trailer, it does feature beautiful visuals and intense first-person combat, coming with modern weapons and lots of customization options.

Similar to Escape From Tarkov, your main job in Arena Breakout Infinite is to drop onto the map, loot as much as you can, and leave the area without getting killed. We don’t have any further information on the gameplay loop yet, but it seems like Arena Breakout Infinite may not be as intense and hardcore as Escape From Tarkov, after all.

During a combat scene in the final part of the gameplay, you can spot a UI indicator that shows a grenade has been thrown at the player, which is something you could never have in Escape From Tarkov.

Don’t get me wrong, this is indeed a great approach to make intense extraction shooters more accessible without making it hardcore in every possible aspect.

After the huge community backlash over Escape From Tarkov’s recent update, it seems like Arena Breakout Infinite is making its debut on PC at the best possible time. Just when Tarkov players are furious at Battlestate Games for locking a PvE mode behind a new $250 edition and offering pay-to-win items, Arena Breakout Infinite comes out swinging!
