Best Anvil Arrow Loadouts For PvE & PvP In Star Citizen

by Cole Phelps

It’s been a long time since Star Citizen was out in Alpha, but Anvil Arrow still remains the most agile light fighter in this game, which is why it is so popular, even among veteran players and skilled dogfighters.

Countering Anvil Arrow is one of the most difficult jobs in Star Citizen in a PvP fight, as few ships can go shoulder-to-shoulder with Arrow when it comes to maneuverability in space or atmosphere.

Having a pretty cheap price, Arrow is the first choice for every Star Citizen player who wants to enter the dogfighting scene, but using the base loadout will not let the ship live up to its full potential. The player must apply some changes in the loadout, based on the fight they pick.

These builds are based on Alpha 3.24.1.

For the PvE loadout, players are advised to use a Scattergun on the remote turret. Since AI pilots are not advanced enough, it is quite easy to get closer to the bounties, especially with Arrow’s great SCM speed.

In close proximities, Scatterguns work magic for you as they have a pretty high Alpha (the damage health by a single shot). However, make sure to use the Scattergun carefully as the total ammo is scarce.

For the Size-3 slots, Arrow pilots do have a wide variety of options, but running the ship with a double Attrition-3 config will serve the pilot the best.

While Attrition-3 might not be as powerful as Laser Cannon’s in taking down shields, it is one of the most powerful Laser Repeaters available, and since the remote turret uses a Scattergun, it is important to equip something with a higher fire rate than a cannon.

Keep in mind that a higher fire rate means the pilot can deal a higher amount of damage by locking in on its target for a brief duration. So, if you feel like more fire rate is needed, you can replace one of the Attritions with an NDB-30 or Arrow’s original CF-337 Panther. These alternative options will also deliver more ammo per clip.

When it comes to PvP, you will deal with real players who know how to evade incoming shots and move away from your PIPs. That’s why getting close enough to the target to deal damage with Scatterguns is not really reasonable.

In PvP fights, it is important to take down the opponent’s shield as soon as possible, and that’s why using two Lightstrike 3s is recommended. This Size-3 Laser Cannon is quite fast in draining the shields and making them disappear, especially if they are Size-1 shields.

To compensate for Lightstrike’s short clip size and slow fire rate, the turret slots have been occupied by two Buzzsaw Ballistic Repeaters with a big amount of ammo in reserve.

This combination is quite powerful against light and even medium fighters, but remember that flying skills are the top priority in winning PvP battles, and loadout comes next!
