Star Citizen: Blockade Runner Event Complete Guide

by Cole Phelps

The Blockade Runner event mostly relies on the new cargo-hauling missions and the physicalization of cargo in Star Citizen, which is the reason why players are quite excited about it.

The Blockade Runner event combines cargo missions with ship combat, where players need to fight with the Nine-Tails gang and blow up their ships to bring back the stolen cargo.

How To Start Blockade Runner Event

When the event is live, you should be able to spot a priority contract which refers to Blockade Runner. This event basically happens on one of the four major space stations orbiting around the planets, but the location changes from one day to another.

After accepting the mission, you will receive a marker that shows the drop-off point of the cargo, which is the space station dealing with the Nine-Tails gang. Keep in mind that when a space station is under siege, all of its defense turrets will be down, and players must deal with invader ships themselves.

How To Complete The Event

Around the space station, you will receive a few markers with a difficulty level. These markers show the location of Nine-
Tails’ ships that are smuggling cargo out of space station. You need to travel to these locations one by one and fight with the ships. There are always one or two cargo ships with some fighters protecting them.

Focus on destroying fighters first and then target the cargo. Keep in mind that you have to force a soft death on the cargo ship, specifically. If you shoot at it after soft death for total annihilation, you will miss the cargo inside.

Once the cargo ship has been damaged to soft death, you will need to get into the cargo bay of the ship and transfer the cargo inside your own ship. So, as you can see, both cargo and fighter ships are required for completing the mission.

After transferring the cargo, you can either go hunting the other cargo smugglers or return to the space station if your ship is full. Be aware that the space station is also filled with Nine-Tails fighters. So, try to request a hangar and land inside as quickly as possible. Now, put the cargo inside the freight elevator to deliver it.

There is a progression bar in the top corner which indicates how many cargo containers must be delivered to win the event.

Also, it is important to note that the smugglers grow in difficulty as you deliver more cargo to the space stations. At higher levels, which are named “Massive” you may face A2 bombers, Hammerheads, and one or two fully loaded C2 ships. For this level, you will need bigger cargo carriers to successfully deliver the cargo.
