C1 Spirit Cargo Grid Returns To Original Config With Star Citizen Alpha 3.24.3

by Cole Phelps

When Star Citizen Alpha 3.24.2 launched onto the live servers, Cloud Imperium Games applied a sneaky nerf to C1 Spirit’s cargo grid by moving the side grids close to each other, so players can’t easily fit in 8 SCU boxes in between them.

On the papers, C1 Spirit can carry up to 64 SCU of cargo, which simply means two 32 SCU boxes, but players would outsmart that configuration by fitting a third 32 SCU box in the middle. By closing the side grids to each other, CIG prevented players from doing so unless they would place boxes off the grid and very close to the edge.

With Alpha 3.24.3, however, this infamous change will be reverted and side cargo grids once again will hug the ship’s walls. So, players are expected to be able to fit the third 32 SCU box in the middle and even have a narrow corridor to move along the cargo bay without moving the box in the middle.

The fact that this change was applied in the same patch that the RSI Zeus series arrived, raised some eyebrows, as if CIG was intentionally nerfing C1 Spirit to force players to get the new RSI ship, which comes with a bigger cargo space. We never know what was the real intention, but we are happy that it was reverted.

Alpha 3.24.3 is still in the PTU channel, and it is expected to go live on November 22 or a few days earlier than that to deliver everything needed for IAE 2954.

Before the new patch goes live, however, a few of the upcoming ships will be delivered to the PTU channel for testing purposes. For now, only Misc Starlancer MAX has been confirmed to be delivered with Alpha 3.24.3, but we also expect Terrapin Medivac and RSI Polaris to become available for testing before the live version of the patch arrives.
