Clash Royale: Best Decks In Goblin Queen’s Journey

by Cole Phelps

The biggest Clash Royale update for 2024 is now live, and Goblin Queen has already taken over the King Tower with her babies controlling the Crown Tower for her! The new update introduces the Goblin Queen’s Journey game mode which is quite similar to Path of Legends but comes with some special rules.

Featuring four different arenas, known as Goblins, the new game mode will force every player to use Goblin Queen at the King Tower and Baby Goblins on Crown Towers. While the attacking style for each of the towers will not surprise you that much, Goblin Queen has a unique ability that allows her to launch a series of Goblin Babies into the opponent’s half of the battlefield once you deploy enough Goblins throughout the match.

This is indicated by a progression bar attached to Goblin Queen, the more Elixir you spend on any of the Goblin cards, the more you will fill in the bar. Once the bar is full, your next Goblin deployment will also launch the Goblin Babies. You will have no control over where to launch the babies, as they will spread around the battlefield in a straight line.

So, the first lesson to learn from this particular gameplay mechanic is that you better have Goblin cards in your deck. And the more Goblins you have, the faster you will be able to launch Goblin Babies.

This lesson and a number of other lessons that we learned after multiple trial and error attempts, led us to the following deck, as the best deck for the first arena in Goblin Queen’s Journey. We will update this article with two more decks for Arena 2 and Arena 3, where you will unlock Goblin Curse and Goblin Machine cards respectively.

Best Goblin Queen’s Journey Deck For Arena 1

CardsElixir
Clone3
The Log2
Goblins2
Goblin Giant6
Arrows3
Dart Goblin3
Goblin Demolisher4
Bomb Tower4
Tower TroopGoblin Babies (Forced)

You may not believe it but Clone is the most important part of this deck. There are two conditions that you should always prepare the Clone for: Goblin Baby launch, and Goblin Demolisher attack.

When your Goblin Demolisher’s hitpoints are passed the middle bar, it will start to run towards the closest opponent tower or building, and it will eventually explode himself. Using Clone on Demolisher will give you an extra explosion, which is quite devastating if the Demolisher manages to reach the towers. Even if the Demolisher is surrounded by enemy troops, it’s still worth it to clone it, as the double Explosion will deplete a large amount of HP from the rival’s troops.

The same thing is true for Baby Goblins. If you are strongly pushing forward with a massive army or about to launch the Baby Goblins, cloning them will make them a force to be reckoned with, especially if you clone Babies on the side that the opponent is not expecting an attack. After all, they can barely deny Babies on both sides.

Bomb Tower, The Log, and Arrows are all your defensive cards to deny the rival’s Babies as well as spam units. You are highly suggested to deploy Dart Goblin away from the center of chaos to give it a good space for dealing damage without taking hits.

As long as the Double Elixir phase has not begun, you should deploy Goblin Giant from behind the Queen, and it’s always best to support it with Demolisher or Dart Goblin. Cloning Giant Goblin is only worth it if it has reached the Crown Tower.

Best Goblin Queen’s Journey Deck For Arena 2

CardsElixir
Valkyrie (Evolution Spot)4
The Log2
Goblin Gang3
Goblin Giant6
Arrows3
Dart Goblin3
Goblin Demolisher4
Bomb Tower4
Tower TroopGoblin Babies (Forced)

To be frank, Goblin Curse is not ready yet to be used in the second Arena. You will receive Goblin Curse at the base level of 6, and it will require four upgrades to reach Level 10, while the max level for Arena 2 is 11. So, it’s not ready yet to be used.

As a result, we suggest the deck above, with Valkyrie taking the Evolution Spot as its ability to deal with a lot of spam units and minions is quite impressive in Goblin Queen’s Journey. It can be both a good defensive card and a reliable support card for Goblin Giant when moving to the other side of the river.

With this deck, we also replaced Goblins with Goblin Gang, as the latter has better suitability for both offensive and defensive situations. The rest of the cards are almost the same as the first deck and they will work the same way.

Best Goblin Queen’s Journey Deck For Arena 3

CardsElixir
Valkyrie (Evolution Spot)4
Goblin Demolisher4
Goblin Curse2
Dart Goblin3
Goblin Cage4
The Log2
Ram Rider5
Goblin Gang3
Tower TroopGoblin Babies (Forced)

After reaching Arena 3, you have collected enough Goblin Curse cards to upgrade it up to Level 10 at least. So, you can surely benefit from the new spell to protect your pushing army.

Regarding the incredible buff applied to Ram Rider, it is now a great unit to push forward, but you need to time its deployment well, and also make sure to support it with a secondary unit like The Log, Goblin Demolisher, or the Dart Goblin to deny any possible spam swarm that could come for the Ram Rider.

Similar to Arena 2’s deck, Valkyrie will serve as a perfect defensive unit to deny Baby Goblins or any other kind of attack that may target your Crown Towers. If Valkyrie survives after denying an attack, you can use this golden opportunity by dropping Goblin Demolisher and Ram Rider on the map to put together a heavy counter-attack.
