This season in Clash Royale revolves around the new potions crafted by Wizard. One is Void, your new spell in Clash Royale, and the other is a shield that appears in Wizard’s Evolution. With the new Evolution, Wizard will hopefully have a better chance of appearing in more decks.
No matter if you have purchased the Diamond Pass to obtain Wizard Evolution or have spent your collected Wild Shards on it, this Evolution is indeed worth it. If you have any doubts about that, try out the decks below in Path of Legends or Trophy Road and you will believe in the power of Wizard Evolution.
Deck 1: When Giant Becomes A Shield
Cards | Elixir Cost |
Wizard (Evolution Spot) | 5 |
Giant | 5 |
Freeze | 4 |
Tesla Tower | 4 |
Bomber | 2 |
Golden Knight | 4 |
Miner | 3 |
The Log | 2 |
Tower Troop | Dagger Duchess |
Suitable for players who prefer playing from the ground, rather than the sky, this deck will allow you to counter anything that comes in your way from ground and air.
Wizard himself is proven to be one of the best counters against group-based units like Minion Horde, Skeleton Army, or Bats. So, when deployed just behind Giant, he can clear the way for the big boy to get into the middle of the opponent’s hell and target the crown tower.
Miner plays the role of distraction, and it’s best to send him next to the crown tower before Giant crosses the bridge. However, you can do it vice versa and make Miner your sneaky damage dealer.
That being said, sometimes you may face more than one counter for Giant, and that’s when using Freeze instead of Miner could give you a better winning edge in the battle. In case the countering units are ranged damage dealers, you can deploy Golden Knight and activate the ability to hit them fast and hard!
Deck 2: Rocks Rolling And Raining
Cards | Elixir Cost |
Wizard (Evolution Spot) | 5 |
Mortar | 4 |
Skeletons | 1 |
Goblin Drill | 4 |
Bomb Tower | 4 |
Electro Wizard | 4 |
Bowler | 5 |
Fireball | 4 |
Tower Troop | Dagger Duchess |
Sometimes you may want to use smarter ways to crush an opponent’s crown tower rather than lining up an army to push forward directly.
Bomb Tower and Mortar are your smart duo in this deck to slowly but steadily put the opponent under pressure. Bowler will become your shield again, and Wizard will support him from behind.
Skeletons should be used for detracting the rival’s attackers and luring them toward your base’s middle area, while Fireball can be used to target any enemy spawning next to your rival’s crown tower or clear the way for Bowler and Wizard.
Since Bomb Tower cannot target aerial units, it’s best to keep Electro Wizard ready to deny any flying troops, especially the dangerous ones like Balloon or Inferno Dragon.
Deck 3: Lava Hound Up To Something
Cards | Elixir Cost |
Wizard | 5 |
Royal Ghost | 3 |
Skeleton Barrel | 3 |
Lava Hound | 7 |
Fisherman | 3 |
Princess | 3 |
Minion Horde | 5 |
Zappies | 4 |
Tower Troop | Dagger Duchess |
It’s no secret that Lava Hound is one of the weakest cards in Clash Royale, but it just has so much HP that you can hardly ignore its presence in the game.
After all, Lava Hound is the only flying giant in Clash Royale, and that does add a special twist to some decks if you just know how and when to play your cards.
Spawn Royal Ghost at the far end of your side and let him move to the front of your crown tower. Now, send Lava Hound ahead from the edge of the bridge and wait for the Elixir bar to refill up to 6, then deploy Wizard to support both units.
Fisherman and Zappies should remain in the back, as they can deal with any giant coming from the opponent’s side. The same goes for Minion Horde. Princess is a sneaky unit that deals minimal but steady damage when your opponent collects Elixir for the next attack wave.
Finally, if you can’t wait for Lava Hound to come back to your hand, or don’t have enough Elixir to deploy it, replace the Lava Hound with Skeleton Barrel, and your push will still remain effective.
