While Goblin Cage Evolution might be the biggest new addition in Clash Royale’s Season 62, Supercell also offers a number of promo events that are worth participating.
Starting today, all card upgrade costs in Clash Royale are reduced in half for a limited time. So, instead of paying 100,000 Gold to upgrade a card from Level 13 to Level 14, you can now do it with only 50,000 Gold.
That being said, this event does not apply to Elite upgrades. So, in order to upgrade a card to Level 15 and make it Elite, you will still need to collect 50,000 Elite Cards. The event will only affect upgrades that are based on Gold.
While this still helps players who don’t spend real-life money to buy cards or get the Pass Royale, the decision to exclude Elite upgrades from the event is somewhat frustrating.
Most of the veteran players in Clash Royale are currently struggling with the Level 15 upgrades, and since it requires a different in-game currency than Gold, which is many times harder to grind, the new event doesn’t have much to help.
At the higher levels of play, having all your cards at Level 15 is a must to keep yourself among the top players, especially with all the meta changes that occur with every new card or Evolution coming to the game.
Currently, Goblin Cage Evolution is pretty strong against the tanky units, and if the developers don’t nerf it in the near future, the card will dominate the meta in Clash Royale. So, those who already have Goblin Cage upgraded to Level 15 will have the upper hand when using the new meta decks.
The Slash Royale event benefits players who don’t spend so much time in Clash Royale or don’t play with a competitive mindset. If you have more than a few cards that are below Level 14, then Slash Royale will surely help you a lot to get them much closer to Level 15 than ever.
The game also offers some free rewards for spending gold. So, you get a discount for upgrading cards throughout this week, and you will also gain rewards like chests for hitting every new threshold in spending Gold.
The only way to earn Gold fast is to play the game more. Earning more Crowns will help you unlock the free chests in Pass Royale faster. Also, playing the weekly event will earn you Season Tokens, which can be turned in to receive Gold instead.
