COD Black OPS 6 Is Not 300 GB In Size, It Could Be Half The Amount

After a huge backlash over the colossal storage space required to install Call of Duty Black Ops 6, the official Call of Duty Updates account on X clarified that the submitted file size for the game on digital stores is indicator of the entire Call of Duty HQ package, including Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, Warzone, and Black Ops 6.

Obviously, players will only need to install the base of Call of Duty HQ along with Black Ops 6 to play the latest iteration of the game. So, the final size will be drastically reduced after subtracting the Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, and Warzone data.

Now, the developer did not revealed what is the actual download size and required space to install Black Ops 6, but it will be revealed in the near future as we get closer to the game’s release.

For a more detailed comparison, Call of Duty HQ itself with no additional DLC is 61 GB in size on Steam. The multiplayer of Modern Warfare 3 is 33 GB, while its campaign mode is 23 GB. So, if we assume that Black Ops 6 will have similar file sizes for Multiplayer, Zombies, and Campaign, the final size of the game will barely exceed 150 GB, which is quite normal for a Call of Duty game.

Since the announcement of Black Ops 6, the game’s file size turned into a hot debate across the social media platforms, as fans would rather talk more about the file size than the actual gameplay changes and improvements.

Aside from how big the final download size would be in the end, players can even break Black Ops 6 itself into pieces, as you can remove the campaign data once you complete it, which will reduce the maximum space require by a significant amount. The same option has been available for Modern Warfare 3 as well.

Similar to its predecessors, Call of Duty Black Ops 6 will come with a Zombies mode, bringing back the round-based Zombie experience again. The game will also have a special focus on Multiplayer, launching with 13 new maps.

The movement style will also have some improvements in Black Ops 6, as Treyarch revealed Omnidirectional sliding and sprinting at the announcement showcase, which opens up new opportunities for players to be creative in gunfights.

The closed beta for Black Ops 6 is expected to launch later in August 2024, with the game itself launching on October 25.
