Clash Royale: Best Decks In Drilling Time Event

by Cole Phelps

TLDR:

  • The first deck includes Wizard, Royal Ghost, Flying Machine, Fireball, Bomber, Knight, and Cannon.
  • The second deck includes Valkyrie, Goblin Demolisher, Ram Rider, Arrows, Electro Spirit, Minions, and Guardians.
  • You will need to have at least one unit dedicated to neutralizing the opponent’s Goblin Drill.
  • You can either support your Goblin Drill with other units or turn it into bait for your following deployments.

As it was leaked before the current season went live, Goblin Drill is the latest Card Evolution in Clash Royale, and today’s Drilling Time event is indeed your first opportunity to try out the Evolution for free.

The event locks Goblin Drill to every player’s deck, giving you one additional Evolution slot to build a deck around the new Goblin Drill Evolution.

There are two major methods to use Goblin Drill: You can either use it as your main damaging unit to hit the opponent’s crown towers, or use it as a distraction unit and deal the real damage with something else. Hopefully, we have a deck to offer for both methods.

Deck 1: Supporting Goblin Drill

CardsElixir
Goblin Drill (Forced)4
Wizard (Evolution Spot)5
Royal Ghost3
Flying Machine4
Fireball4
Bomber2
Knight3
Cannon3
Tower TroopCannoneer

Wizard will be your first option to deny the opponent’s Goblin Drill in this deck. However, it can also be replaced with Bomber if you don’t have Wizard or enough Elixir to deploy it. So, make sure to keep both of these cards for defensive scenarios.

On the other hand, you have Goblin Drill as your main damage dealer, which can be either supported by Royal Ghost or Fireball. It really depends on what your opponent will use to deny Goblin Drill. Royal Ghost is a great distraction to deploy first, and then drop Goblin Drill as a follow-up next to the crown tower.

Flying Machine can also be a secondary supporter for Goblin Drill, in case you have enough Elixir to neutralize a possible counter-attack by the enemy player. Flying Machine can also serve as a defensive unit next to Knight to keep any giants away from your crown towers.

Deck 2: Baiting Goblin Drill

CardsElixir
Goblin Drill (Forced)4
Valkyrie (Evolution Spot)4
Goblin Demolisher4
Minions3
Ram Rider5
Guardians3
Arrows3
Electro Spirit1
Tower TroopCannoneer

In this deck, Goblin Drill will play the bait’s role for Ram Rider. You need to be quite careful with launching this attack though.

Wait until you have 8 Elixir in the bank, then deploy Goblin Drill and follow it up with the Ram Rider. It doesn’t really matter who gets canonized by the opposing crown tower, but if it is a Dagger Duchess, it’s best to have it target Goblin Drill first.

If you know that your enemy may use a Skeleton Army or Bats to deny the attack, make sure to deploy Electro Spirit after Ram Rider.

You can use either Goblin Demolisher or Minions to neutralize the opponent’s Goblin Drill. Valkyrie can also be used for that, but we strongly suggest keeping it for fighting tanky units. Guardians and even Minions can also help Valkyrie with that task.
