EA FC 25: Best Starter Nation In Ultimate Team

by Cole Phelps

The first thing you need to do after running Ultimate Team in EA Sports FC 25 is to choose the nationality of your Starter Pack. This will determine where your initial squad players will be from.

Having all players from the same nationality will give you a chemistry bonus in the formation, but the important question is which country would offer the best players. Well, we have run an early test on it!

Two Things To Consider Before Choosing Starter Nation

If you want to recreate a certain real-world club, it is recommended that you choose a nation that most of the target club’s players are from, especially if it is a mid-level or low-level club like Everton from England or Venezia from Italy.

Secondly, keep in mind that the starter squad will only include players with Overall ratings of between 50 and 80. So, if you choose a nation with dreams of getting Mbappe or Kane, you are doing wrong! The nations below have been ranked based on the good players they offer in the sub-80 Overall.

9. Argentina

While in higher overall rates Argentina has some great players like Emiliano Martinez, Lautaro, and Dybala, there are not many eye-catching options in the sub-80 overall.

Your best bets for the starter pack are Benitez for goalkeeping, Perez and Tenaglia for the defensive line, Velasco as a midfielder, and Boye, Correa, or Beltran in the offensive third. There are also a few good-rated players from women’s football that you might get in the starter pack if you are lucky enough.

8. Netherlands

Similar to Argentina, the Netherlands does not offer a wide variety of worthy players in the sub-80 overall, but the variety of positions that you can get a player for is wider than that of Argentina.

The Netherlands has a handful of safe goalkeepers like Bijlow and some decent defensive players like Veltman, Wijndal, and Schenkeveld. When it comes to the midfielders, there are many good options available in the Netherlands, from Van de Beek to Karsdrop. Lastly, you are quite lucky if you get De Jong or Brobbey as strikers.

7. Italy

Since winning Euro 2020, Italy’s national football team has been in a constant downfall, but they do have some stellar young players and some worthy old veterans to offer in a starter pack.

Brignoli or Sirigu are decent options for a starter squad’s goal, while De Sciglio and Rugani from Juventus could help strengthen the defensive third even more. Moreover, you can bet on Borini, Pessina, and El Shaarawy in the mid-belt of the pitch, and expect a good striker like Caputo or Retegui.

6. Germany

A new generation in Germany’s national team is slowly arising, as long-time stars like Kroos and Neuer leave the squad. Hopefully, there is a good chance you get one of those wonder kids in your squad with a starter pack from Germany.

Schwabe is a solid pick for goal, next to Kubler and Wedemeyer in the defense. There are not so many good strikers available in sub-80 overall from Germany, so the best you can achieve is either Volland or Hofmann. Similar to the Netherlands, however, there are some good stars in the midfield area like Dahoud and Maier that you receive from your starter pack.

5. Brazil

The world’s most decorated national football team might not be doing well recently, but as always, there are a lot of talented players from this country even in the sub-80 overall.

While Allison and Ederson are two top goalkeepers in Brazil, you can still find decent options like Neto or Paulo Vitor in the lower ratings. Moving over to the defense line, Alex Sandro, Marcao, and Renan Lodi are some of the best choices. In the midfield area, you may get Ederson from Atalana if you are lucky. And for the offensive line, you can hope for Matheus Cunha and Evanilson.

4. France

In recent years, France has been one of the most talented national teams in the world. Kylian Mbappe is surely the most iconic talent in this country, but there is more to discover!

If you go ahead with France, your best bets are Butez or Lecomte as a goalkeeper, Zouma in the defense line, Kone or Ikone for the midfield, and eventually, Thomas or Mateta for the attacking third.

3. Portugal

Although Cristiano Ronaldo will retire from football sooner or later, there are indeed some good talents that slowly rise to become a star in Portugal.

You can count on Luis Maximiano to keep your goal off the threats, while Diogo Leite helps with the defense line. In the midfield, there are decent options like Pedro Neto, Joao Moutinho, Trincao and Conceisao. Finally, you can wish for Vitinha or Melissa Gomes to be on the attacking line.

2. England

The home of football probably has the most licensed players in EA Sports FC 25, and that is not something to ignore so easily.

There are so many good players in sub-80 overall from England. In the goal, you can think of Foderingham as the best candidate, while in the defense line, there are good options such as Coady. When it comes to midfield, the chances are you get Tavernier, Ward-Prowse, Loftus-Cheek, Milner, or Barkley as one of the highest-rated sub-80 players.

Finally, on the offensive side, you may get Welbeck, Nketiah, Ings, or Kalvert Lewin.

1. Spain

While Spain may not have an abundance of players to offer in every position, it does have the expected quality for every position.

Spain currently has the most powerful national team in the world, and it is no surprise to expect them to top the chart in mid-level players as well.

With a Spanish starter pack, you can hope for Pepe Reina in the goal, Diego Llorente, Sergio Reguilon, and Juan Bernat in the defense, Denis Suarez, Pablo Sarabia, and Dani Rodriguez in the midfield, and finally, Sandro, Abel Ruiz, Pedro, and Inma Gabarro in the offense.
