The lead developer behind Escape From Tarkov recently shared a screenshot from a new in-game trader to tease players about the upcoming content to the game, but it then turned into fresh material to roast Battlestate Games over what they did in the past few weeks.
So, the Reddit user “yunihuni” put their editing magic to work and added the new trader’s thumbnail into Escape From Tarkov’s market menu with a $100 tag next to it. Savage, right?
After announcing the $250 Unheard Edition for Escape From Tarkov and locking the PvE mode behind it, Battlestate Games received huge backlash not only from the community but even from other developers like Bohemia Interactive and Morefun Games.
Although the Russian developer reverted their decisions to a degree by adding the PvE mode to Edge of Tomorrow Edition and offering some future balance changes for the pay-2-win items of the Unheard Edition, the community is still quite mad at the studio and its head of development, Nikita Buyanov.
One of the highly upvoted comments on this roasting Reddit post suggests “We’ve gotten to a point where [we] can’t tell if this is a meme or if it’s serious.” And that is a dark comedy for Battlestate Games.
While the name and details of the new trader are yet to be announced, it will definitely not be locked behind a paywall, as it has never been the case with traders. However, there still can be some bonuses for high-tier owners to have a faster progression speed with the new trader.
Recently, Buyanov confirmed that one-third of Edge of Tomorrow Edition owners have already received access to the PvE mode, and the team at Battlestate Games is trying to improve the infrastructure to make it available to all owners as soon as possible.
Aside from that, Buyanov also reacted to the closed beta release of rival extraction shooter, Arena Breakout Infinite, accusing its developers of stealing the game codes from Escape From Tarkov. Well, that is something we can’t really comment on, as it should be taken to court and investigated by the specialists. However, regarding the fact that one developer is Russian and the other is Chinese, a legal investigation is far from happening.
