The legendary producer behind former Grand Theft Auto titles, Lezlie Benzies, and his team at Build A Rocket Boy will launch the first phase of their upcoming title, Everywhere, in closed beta on June 18.
Builders Beta, as Build A Rocket Boy likes to call it, is the introduction of players to the Arcadia tool on a larger scope, where you can use this game editor to create content for Everywhere, just like the development team does.
The upcoming beta is all about creating missions, levels, and experiences by the community members, as Arcadia has received multiple quality-of-life improvements since the latest Alpha test back in November 2023.
The variety of experiences players can create is close to that of Fortnite Creative. You can build missions or scenarios where players can go in guns blazing to defeat bosses or AI enemies. There is also the option to design tracks and set up races. Moreover, you can also build platformer and puzzle levels and challenge players to reach a targeted destination.
Arcadia allows you to modify the AI units in the way you like. Similar to the example shown on the trailer, a stationary turret can be moved over a vehicle to make it a moving death bringer. As you get creative with the tools, you can find new ways to modify the game’s world and elevate the experience you are bringing to life.
Since this is a closed beta, you will need to sign up before you can participate in testing the features. Hopefully, there is still time left, and you can register by paying a visit to Everywhere’s official webpage.
Builders Beta will only be available on PC, and you are highly suggested to run it on a system along the lines of the recommended specs below:
- Operating System: Windows 10
- Processor: Intel Core i7-12700 or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: 6 GB of VRAM; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
- Storage: 50 GB Available Space, SSD
- Target performance: 1080p at 30 FPS
If your PC is weaker in some parts than the recommended specs, you can still run it, though you shouldn’t expect a super smooth experience.
Everywhere is the debut project from Build A Rocket Boy, which has been in development since 2016. Introduced as a standalone universe for gamers to build and play, Everywhere offers a platform where you can create new experiences thanks to its zero-code game editor, modify other players’ creations to your liking, or just hop into available missions and levels, and have some fun.
When the first extended trailer appeared for Everywhere, the developers also teased a cinematic experience with highly realistic visuals in the end, but they kept it a secret at the time.
The upcoming Builders Beta is not a full experience of Everywhere as it misses Biomes and some other parts of Utropia, the shared universe of the game that serves as a hub area for all players.
Everywhere is currently not listed on any of the third-party PC digital platforms, and if you sign up for the beta, you will get an instruction to download it from the game’s own website. It’s yet to be seen whether Everywhere will remain exclusive to its own launcher, or if it’s just a temporary solution for the upcoming beta.
