by Cole Phelps

Metaphor Refantazio is the next big release of this year for all the Persona fans around the world. While the game is supposed to launch on October 10, a prologue demo is already available across all platforms for free.

The demo includes the initial missions of Metaphor Refantazio, and it will allow players to get familiar with the combat system and some of the many archetype classes. As per developers, save files and progression can be transferred from the demo version to the final build on October 10.

There will be more than 40 Archetype classes in the final version of Metaphor Refantazio, and 7 of them are available in the free demo. Also, players will meet six followers throughout their demo journey, some of who could join the protagonist in the dangerous adventure ahead.

The demo version features a series of battles as well, allowing players to get familiar with the turn-based combat system, which might feel similar to that of the Persona series, but it does have some unique features, including the “Fast & Squad” system that will be quite useful in exploring dungeons.

Speaking of combat, the first four dungeons are also playable in the demo build of Metaphor Refantazio.

If you plan to play the demo on PC, it is already available on Steam and it requires 64 GB of free space. It is yet to be seen whether the data will be re-downloaded for the final version, but the full game also requires 93 GB of free space.

Coming from the director behind Persona 5, Katsura Hashino, Metaphor Refantazio is the debut title of Studio Zero, the third internal development team at Atlus that is supposed to work on original IPs rather than Persona 5 or its spin-offs.

The prologue demo is a great opportunity for turn-based RPG fans to try out Metaphor Refantazio before pre-purchasing it and see if it fits into their gaming taste. The demo will be available until the game’s launch and may still remain live after release as well.
