With F8C Lightning winning the Ship Showdown 2024 event, CIG has now brought back The Hunt event, where players will be able to search the entire Stanton to find the Golden Tickets for one of the best heavy fighters in Star Citizen.
With a Golden Ticket, not only players will be able to rent F8C Lightning for free for 24 hours, but also they can buy it from the Pledge Store with no limitations.
Keep in mind that The Hunt event will only be available until September 30, 2024. It is unknown whether players would still be able to get the ship after that period using the Golden Ticket.
How To Find F8C Lightning Golden Ticket
Golden Tickets can be looted from the chests or NPC corpses in Stanton. Basically, search wherever that has a chest to open. This includes bunkers, which can be accessed by picking up bunker missions like “Defend Site” or just visiting them on your own, though this will make turrets shoot at your ship. So, get a ground vehicle!

- All places named after “HDSF”
- Microtech:
- All MT DataCenters
- ArcCorp And Crusader Moons:
- Mining Facilities
Other than bunkers, make sure to check out mining stations and jumptowns as well. There are a lot of mining stations on each planet, and usually, most of its cabins have lootable chests.
- Hurston:
- All places named after “HDMS” are mining stations
- Other planets and moons:
- Shubin Mining Facility or ArcCorp Mining Area
- Jumptowns:
- Raven’s Roost on Microtech
- Jumptown on Daymar
- Orphanage on Lyria
- Paradise Cove on Wala
Other than that, Outposts are your next option. Some outposts feature a few rooms where you can find lootable chests inside. Microtech and Hurston are the planets with the most outposts. Some moons also host Reasearch Stations which also might have some lootable chests.
What To Do With A Golden Ticket
First of all, know that you can loot more than one Golden Ticket throughout the event. Once you have it, RSI should send you an email within hours or days after grabbing the Golden Ticket to let you purchase the F8C Lightning from the Pledge Store.
By then, however, you can take the ticket to any of the ship rental terminals in Stanton to test fly F8C Lightning for 24 hours without paying anything.
If you collect more than one ticket, you can send it as a gift to your friends.
