Hunt Showdown 1896: How To Find And Kill Hellborn

by Cole Phelps

TLDR:

  • Hellborn can be found using the player’s Dark Sight ability.
  • One of the blue sparkles in the Dark Sight belongs to Hellborn, and you will hear a roaring sound when you are in Dark Sight. So, just try to reach the source of the sound.
  • If it’s hard to hear a roaring sound, then Hellborn is far away.
  • Hellborn can spawn in plain sight or inside buildings. Hellborn doesn’t spawn in Double Bounty matches.

Hunt Showdown 1896 is finally here, and it brings a special guest to Mammon’s Gulch as well. Hellborn is a new, deadlier type of immolator in Hunt Showdown that acts as the new map’s Wild Target.

Unlike contract bosses, Hellborn will not reveal itself after closing rifts. As a result, you will need to look for it on your own, using the clues that Hellborn leaves behind constantly and steadily.

How To Find Hellborn

Players can find Hellborn using the Dark Sight ability. When you switch to Dark Sight, a number of blue sparkles will become visible. While most of them are rifts, Hellborn is also marked by one of these blue sparkles. The only difference for Hellborn is that when you are in Dark Sight, you will hear a vague roaring sound.

If you are close to the sound, the roaring will be strong and clear, but if you are far away, it will be a weak sound. We strongly suggest you use headphones, otherwise, it will be quite difficult to figure out where the sound is coming from.

Once you find the direction of the sound, move toward it. The sound should be intensified as you get closer to it. Also, it should be coming from one of those blue sparkles, which makes it easier to figure out the correct direction.

As shown in the images above, when you are close to Hellborn, the blue sparkles will be shinier and the roar will be stronger. Keep in mind that Hellborn does not spawn in Double Bounty missions, where there are two bosses to kill.

Now, if you have listened to all the blue sparkles in your sight and none of them have a roaring sound, this means Hellborn is far away from you. Too far that you can’t even see its blue sparkles in the Dark Sight. So, try to find a quiet place and listen carefully when you are in the Dark Sight.

How To Kill Hellborn

The best way to stay away from Hellborn’s attacks is to position yourself in a place above Hellborn. While you will still need to dodge Hellborn’s fire shots, you will remain safe from its melee attacks, which are mostly used in the second phase of the attack when Hellborn loses over 50% of its health. That being said, sometimes Hellborn is inside a building, which makes the fight quite difficult.

Using long-range weapons to kill the Hellborn is also quite effective, but you will need more ammo. If you want to melee Hellborn, we strongly suggest you do it in the first phase of the battle, as Wild Target’s melee attacks are devastating.

Unlike contract bosses, Hellborn will be banished instantly after its death. It will also drop one Bounty Token as well as a trait from the Burn category.
