It’s been a while since Argo SRV was added to Star Citizen, but the ship was unable to quantum travel while towing another vehicle. That deadlock is no longer the case, and SRV can now tow vehicles anywhere and tractor them while quantum traveling.
This fix opens up a new gameplay loop that allows players to make a good profit from using a combination of Vulture and SRV together. This can be done both solo or with more players, but it works best with at least two players, one piloting an SRV, and the other flying a Vulture.
How To Get Rich With Vulture And SRV Combo
The grand scheme of this combo is about stealing abandoned ships from the ‘verse and then towing them somewhere else to salvage those ships.
If you are doing it solo, jump on your Vulture first and then leave it in a secret location that you know of. Like, 10 km away from Bountiful Harvest on Daymar. Now, get back to the station (by forcing a respawn) and get in the SRV.
From here, your job, as SRV pilot, is to find abandoned ships and tow them to the secret location, so that your friend on the Vulture can salvage them, or if you are doing it alone, dump multiple ships next to the Vulture and then begin salvaging them.
It is best to also have a hauler ship with a big enough cargo space so that you don’t get interrupted by Vulture’s limited storage after salvaging a few ships.
When doing this combo with at least two players, the SRV driver will always be on the hunt to find more abandoned ships, while the Vulture pilot will keep salvaging the increasing pile of ships that are delivered to them.
Where To Find The Abandoned Ships
Landing pads on GrimHex, other Space Stations, and Mining Stations are the best locations to find abandoned ships. Players usually leave their ships around GrimHex with doors open. Also, you can find abandoned NPC ships near mining stations on the moons.
Other than the locations above, Salvage Yards like Brio’s Brakeryard on Daymar or Samson and Sons on Wala are also good spots to hunt abandoned ships.
It is highly suggested to join a crowded server with full players to have a higher chance of finding abandoned ships.
What About CrimeStat?
The player who tows ships that belong to other players will receive a Level 3 CrimeStat, but it will not exceed that Level 3 limit, no matter how many ships you tow away.
Even if you are put inside prison, it will not take more than a few hours to get out.
