by Cole Phelps

TLDR:

  • Hunt Showdown servers will be offline between August 13 and August 15 for 48 hours.
  • The servers are expected to come back online at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on August 15.
  • Going forward, Hunt Showdown 1896 will have weekly maintenance every Wednesday.
  • The new update will drop support for PS4 and Xbox One versions.

Hunt Showdown 1896 is on its way to surprise players and deliver a quality-of-life improvement that they have been anticipating for a long time, but such a massive update cannot be done without taking servers down for some time.

As announced by Crytek, Hunt Showdown servers will go down for maintenance on August 13, two days prior to the new update’s release, and will remain offline until August 15. During this 48-hour period, no player will be able to play Hunt Showdown or even log in to the game.

Hunt Showdown 1896 Server Maintenance Schedule

According to the developers, Hunt Showdown 1896 is expected to go online on August 15 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST / 7 PM CEST.

This also marks the beginning of weekly maintenance for Hunt Showdown 1896 going forward. Every Wednesday, you should expect the game’s servers to go offline at 2 AM ET / 7 AM BST / 8 AM CET for the weekly upkeep for around two hours.

Hunt Showdown 1896 is a re-release of the game with improved visuals, a new map, and significant gameplay and UI changes. When this new version arrives, Hunt Showdown will no longer be available on PS4 and Xbox One, as the game fully transitions to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, next to the PC.

It is yet to be seen how big the update size will be for Hunt Showdown 1896, but expect a hefty patch coming down the line if the developers don’t require you to re-download the entire game.

Aside from the visual leap, some of the most important gameplay changes in Hunt Showdown 1896 include bullet-drop for guns and new changes to the Prestige system. The former will probably shake things up even for the veteran Hunt Showdown players, as it will take some time to learn the bullet-drop pattern for each weapon in the game.

The Prestige changes, on the other hand, will make the rank-reset experience more rewarding, as the developers now lock some of the hunters behind the Prestige levels. Though, if you have already achieved them all, there will be no barriers for you.

Mammon’s Gultch, the new map, is also the biggest new content coming with the 1896 update. This map will take players to a dark mountain, where they can explore an abandoned coal mine and face against a new boss. There will be a new Immolator type as well, which is a lot harder to kill than any mini-boss we have ever had in Hunt Showdown.
