As we are getting close to its Early Access launch, more players are eager to learn more about Manor Lords, the next big city-building experience that will hit PC pretty soon.
A multiplayer mode for a city-builder is not a common feature, but you can’t say it wouldn’t be fun, especially knowing that Manor Lords is more than a city-builder as it will allow you to engage in wars as well.
Can You Play Manor Lords Online With Friends?
No. Manor Lords will not feature any multiplayer modes at launch. The game will strictly focus on delivering a comprehensive single-player experience in the first place.
The one-man developer behind the game, Slavic Magic, confirmed back in 2020 that Manor Lords will not support multiplayer mode when it comes out. This is also represented on the game’s Steam page, as the only playable mode listed is single-player.
That being said, in a recent message shared by the developer before the Early Access release of Manor Lords, Slavic Magic revealed that he will not announce any content roadmap for the game, as he will try to pay attention to the player feedback, and if he ever decides to add something new to the game, it will be based on what the player base asks for.
So, while not featuring a multiplayer mode at launch, there is the possibility of getting it in the future if the community insists on a multiplayer experience, though that already needs a brainstorming of what features in the game could be suitable for such a game mode.
Slavic Magic recently reiterated that despite featuring wars, Manor Lords is not supposed to compete with the Total War series or a 4X empire simulator. Instead, the full focus is on the city-building side, with the wars and other stuff happening on a much smaller scale.
Manor Lords will be available on April 26 for PC. The game will also be available via Game Pass. There is no mention of a PS5 version for now.
