One of the pirate repack groups has recently shared a compressed version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 unofficial PC port, and while the download size looks minimal, it will eventually require over 250 GB of free space on your PC.
Also known as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Brazil, this unofficial PC version was stolen from Insomniac Games after the studio was hit with a massive ransomware attack last year.
A colossal amount of data was stolen by hackers after the attack, including brief gameplay clips of Marvel’s Wolverine, the next big project from Insomniac Games. However, none of them was as big as the leaked PC port of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Of course, the leaked build was not stable at all with numerous bugs and performance issues, but a team of modders started to work on the build and optimizing the experience, up to a point that an Nvidia RTX 3050 can easily hit 30 FPS running v1.4.2 of the build.
If that’s not enough for you, some players even tried it out on handheld gaming hardware such as Steam Deck, and surprisingly the game performed at an acceptable level with occasional stutters. So, it is indeed a big achievement for the modding team behind the project.
Sony has not confirmed any official PC ports for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but sooner or later the game will come out on PC as its predecessors did.
In the meantime, more and more updates are being released for the unofficial mode, and currently, it doesn’t have anything short of an official port. At least, we can guarantee that this unofficial port of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 runs way better than Sony’s official port for The Last Of Us Remake!
Anyway, we are not supposed to share any links to this unofficial port of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and if you are eager to get it from anywhere, keep in mind that you could easily fall for some ransomware programs rather than the game itself. So, be careful out there!
