Mega Knight And Goblin Drill Are Allegedly The Next Evolutions In Clash Royale

by Cole Phelps

Since Supercell started rolling out Card Evolutions in Clash Royale, they mostly have mostly targeted weaker cards with pretty low usage rates, but the next candidate to receive an Evolution in the game is claimed to be the game’s most hated card: the infamous Mega Knight!

Clash Royale dataminer CRLeaks recently discovered a new animation from the game’s files, which they claim is related to the upcoming Evolution of Mega Knight. The animation shows a Goblin evolving in size while jumping, but the leaker believes that the Goblin is just a placeholder model and the animation belongs to Mega Knight.

While the dataminer themselves are not pretty sure how the Evolution could enhance Mega Knight, they guess it has to do something with the troop’s charged jump.

Mega Knight is one of the few cards in Clash Royale with so much hatred towards it. This feud between Mega Knight and the community goes back a long way when the card was launched at an excessively overpowered state, but there is still a considerable amount of complaints against Mega Knight, though the stats don’t show any red flags.

With quite a large health pool, Mega Knight is one of the few tank units that is capable of dealing with spam troops in a pretty effective way unless you distract him with something else and attack from behind. He is one of the troops that usually require a combo of units to be neutralized when protected from aerial attacks.

So, these could be a bunch of reasons why Mega Knight is not so popular, and why players are worried about seeing him back in his overpowered state again after the arrival of a possible Evolution.

Aside from Mega Knight, the dataminer also found an in-game effect among the data files that belongs to Goblin Drill Evolution. This video, however, was taken down by X, which could actually be a hint at the fact that it was real.

From a statistical standpoint, however, both Evolutions sound quite logical. With a quick look at the win rates of both Goblin Drill and Mega Knight, you will realize that they struggle to keep it at 50%. When it comes to the usage rate, however, Goblin Barrel seems to deserve an Evolution more than Mega Knight, as the latter is among the top 20 cards in Ranked, while the former only has a usage rate of 4%.

We cannot confirm any of these leaks, which is why we suggest you take all the possibilities with a grain of salt for now until more teases come from Clash Royale itself.

With Goblin Barrel Evolution and Goblin Queen Journey mode launched in Season 60, it is unlikely to expect any more surprising announcements for the current season. Next week marks the final week of Season 60, but we can expect to see more teases coming from Clash Royale on social media around Season 61, and the possible Card Evolutions coming with it.
