Knockout City Devs Announce New Horror Hide-And-Seek Game Midnight Murder Club

by Cole Phelps

Midnight Murder Club is the latest attempt from the team that brought you Knockout City back in 2021, and it is also a multiplayer game, but in a whole different genre.

Velan Studios is trying a new concept this time while at its heart, the new project is still a PvP experience. Midnight Murder Club is a 6-player FPS game, where you step into a mysterious mansion only to survive a deadly game holding a flashlight in one hand and a revolver in the other.

Depending on the game mode, you will have a different task, but the primary goal of the game is to find and kill your opponents in the pitch-black mansion before they find and kill you. The game modes vary from free-for-all and team deathmatch to multiple objective-based modes, that will require more strategic decisions.

As you explore the dark rooms and corridors of the Wormwood Mansion, you will find more equipment that could help you with your objectives. A night vision goggle, for example, could give you a sheer advantage over other players to see the darkness without revealing your presence with the light of a flashlight. Or maybe you find a bulletproof vest to keep yourself safe against the coming shots.

Midnight Murder Club targets a release on PC in Q4 2024. The game will launch as a fully playable experience rather than in early access. Velan Studios is both the developer and the publisher behind this new project.

Who Are Midnight Murder Club Developers?

The debut title from Velan Studios, Knockout City, was a bittersweet experience for the developer. The game was published by Electronic Arts back in 2021, and despite having a successful initial months, it started to lose players over time up to the point that the development team shut down all public servers, which simply killed the game on consoles.

That being said, Knockout City still lives on PC as a free-to-play game only if you want to host a game on private servers. And as you can guess, it doesn’t have a considerable amount of active players.

Here is hope for Velan Studios to succeed with their upcoming project. You can wishlist Midnight Murder Club now on Steam to receive the latest updates and changes on the game’s release date through your email. Hopefully, the game does have minimal system requirements, which makes it a low-spec-friendly multiplayer experience.
