No Rest For The Wicked First Patch Balances Durability And Repair Rates

by Cole Phelps

The recently launched title by Moon Studios, No Rest For The Wicked, received its first patch today, with a focus on fixing a few bugs and balancing the experience.

No Rest For The Wicked launched to mixed reviews from the community on April 18 as an Early Access product. While the feedback from the community praises the overall premise of the game, it seems to be quite unbalanced at release.

Hopefully, the first patch addresses some of these issues by reducing the durability damage as well as repair costs for weapons and gears. You are also more likely to find Repair Powders when looting. Moreover, the developers also reduced fall damage as well as the stamina cost. Check out the full list of changes below:

  • Reduced Durability Damage Taken
  • Reduced Repair Costs
  • Increased Drop Rate on Repair Powders
  • Reduced Stamina Costs
  • Reduced Fall Damage Curve
  • Reduced cost of Horseshoe Crab and food that includes Horseshoe Crab
  • Balance update for the Cerim Crucible boss
  • Changed Corpse-Smeared Blade starting from Tier 2 to Tier 1
  • Introduced more Weapons into Fillmore’s Pre-Sacrament Loot Table
  • Reduced Drop Rate of Fallen Embers
  • Fixed crash that could occur when quitting out to the main menu
  • Improved inventory navigation
  • Fixed jump at Potion Seller Cave so you can’t miss the jump when executed correctly
  • Blocked off an out-of-bounds area of Nameless Pass
  • Removed lingering dev tools

Unfortunately, this patch still does not deliver an option to rebind keys. One of the major problems that players deal with at the moment is the fact that multiple actions in the game have been bound to a single key, which sometimes could result in performing actions that are not intended by players, such as jumping instead of dodging.

That being said, the developer did mention that both performance improvements and controller remapping are in the works and you can expect them to arrive soon.

No Rest For The Wicked still has a long time to reach its full release. The developers are planning to add a PvP multiplayer mode, as well as more story chapters and explorable regions in future major updates.

When the game exits Early Access, it will released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as well.
