TLDR:
- Manibus represents the PvE server and Evolution’s Call represents the PvP environment.
- If you choose Manibus, you will be locked out of all PvP content and activities.
- Evolution’s Call is the ultimate experience in Once Human, as it offers almost all content from Manibus plus the PvP content.
- Both servers will feature a similar scenario at launch. More scenarios will be added later.
Once Human is currently one of the hottest games on Steam, offering an open-world survival experience with both PvE and PvP elements in an online environment with some innovative gameplay mechanics such as different worlds and scenarios.
This is indeed the first important decision that you need to make after you launch Once Human. The game offers two different worlds and you can only choose one: Manibus or Evolution’s Call.
Each world offers a different gameplay style but it is not completely unique. There are some differences here and there, but they both share the same universe and gameplay mechanics, though the differences are still important.
What Is Manibus?
Manibus is the PvE-only world of Once Human. If you are looking for an experience where you only face AI enemies and monsters, this is the way to go.
In Manibus, you can make progress at your own pace, as there won’t be any interference from players who may oppose a threat. You can either play in this world solo or team up with friends to complete objectives, expand your base, and enjoy exploring the world.
Long story short, Manibus is not the complete or ultimate experience of Once Human, as it cuts out the PvP content no matter how big or small it is.
What Is Evolution’s Call?
Evolution’s Call is where PvE combines with PvP. Not only will you be threatened by the game’s post-apocalyptic environment and mutated monsters, but also you will have to deal with players who may raid or attack you. So, as you can guess, the overall experience is a little bit more intense in Evolution’s Call.
Since PvP is a thing, Evolution’s Call will also provide access to content that is not present in Manibus. The following activities are exclusive to the PvP mode where you must engage with other players to win the activity and achieve the rewards.
- Steal An Echo Stone: Players fight against each other over stealing and securing an Echo Stone.
- Stronghold Conquest: Teams of players fight with each other over collecting and securing resources.
- Cargo Scramble: While a team is transferring cargo, other teams must ambush and obtain the cargo.
There might be still a few unique parts in Manibus, but Evolution’s Call features almost all the PvE content along with the added PvP experience.
What Is Scenario?
In Once Human, each server will offer a unique scenario for an entire season, and the scenarios change once a season is over. For launch, however, both Manibus and Evolution’s Call servers will feature similar scenarios with similar rewards.
According to Starry Studio, the developer of Once Human, more scenarios will be added to the game in the future, with each one offering a unique set of rules, content, and story.
When a season is over, players automatically transfer their high-value earnings like Blueprints, Cosmetics, Furniture, Formulas, and Weapon Accessories. However, common resources that can be earned easily throughout the season will be transferred to the player’s camp at Eternaland, and cannot be carried over from there.
Which One Is Better, Manibus Or Evolution’s Call?
Overall, Evolution’s Call is better as it delivers all the content that Once Human has to offer. The PvP content will make the experience more intense and exciting, while more unforgiving too.
That being said, if you want a more relaxing and less stressful gameplay style, Manibus might be a better approach for you.
