With the arrival of the Social panel to MobiGlass in Star Citizen, players will have an all-in-one tab to manage everything about socializing, from the new Party Finder system to lots of great additions to the friend list.
New Social Panel
The game will now allow you to see where your friends are in the verse by the name of the planet they are at. You can block some players to not receive any messages from them. If there is someone that you really want to take revenge, they will go to your wanted list. Additionally, there will also be a Report option to serve justice to toxic players or cheaters.
Setting up party will now be easier and there will be specific Party Voice Chat channel to make communications a lot easier. When the party members on in a ship, players will know which seats has been taken by which party member, and if they are ready to flight/combat or not.
Party Finder
The Party Finder system is the next best thing to happen. Everyone looking for a player to join their team can create and demonstrate their party, assigning what contract they want to do, where it is located, and what role they need for the mission. Those who want to join will just press a button, and it’s all done!
The general text chat channel will also get quality of life improvements. it will come with different General, Party, and etc tabs, but that’s not the cool part. The chat will now feature a link system, which allows players to link Contracts, Locations, and even players. The click on the link will lead the player directly to the contract details on MobiGlass, the location on the Starmap, or the player on the friend list.
FOIP And VOIP Improvements
Next up, the team is working on improvements to VOIP and FOIP system. The former is the voice chat system, and the latter is supposed to apply your facial expressions onto the face of your in-game character.
The voice servers will get bigger to fit the larger shards with server meshing and the voice quality will be increased as well. When it comes to FOIP, there will be big improvements made to how the game tracks the head movement as well as the expressions of lips, eyes, nose, and eyebrows.
Guides And Beacons
The onboading system for new players also get an overhaul with a new Guide role in the Social panel for MobiGlass. But it’s not just telling others what to do. There will be multiple requirements for becoming a Guide in every field. If you want to be a Guide for mining, you will first need to complete a number of objectives, so the game knows that you are capable enough to become a Guide and lead new players.
Guides will earn in-game money for onboarding new players. Guides will receive Beacons when they are needed. Every new player can send out a Guide Beacon in the category they need help. This alarms all the players that are Guides for that category, and they could accept it to train the rookie player in the purposed field.
A Guide will be paid by the guild responsible for Guides as well as the player who sends out the Guide Beacon upon successfully training the rookie player. Guides will have multiple rating that completing beacons will improve them.
Org Implementation
Org Recruitment is the next new section coming to MobiGlass. Players will no longer need to sign up for an Org through the website. Owners cna register their Orgs and other players can search based on the Org’s focus to join the one they want.
After joining, each Org will have its dedicated page of information, allowing moderators to put in an announcements, send event notifications, and create a calendar for the org, all of which are accessible through MobiGlass. Each player can join up to six Orgs in overall. However, players can only represent one of the orgs at a time.
The org that the player represnets will add the name of the org as a tag before the player’s name. Represnting an org will come with benefits from Guilds that are aligned with focus of the org. Guilds are much bigger NPC organizations, much like Interstellar Transport Guild that deals with cargo hauling.
Aside from Guild benefits, the players will have a Loyalty-meter with each org. Working for the org and deposting things to the org bank will earn you reputation. Higher loyalty will come with benefits like more reputation gain from contracts and more share of rewards.
Org owners can set the permissions for each org member in customizing the information. They can also set the rival and ally orgs, to give members an idea of who should be they friend with and who should they shoot at.
If you see a member of the ally org in the ‘verse, they’ll name will show up green and the rival or hostile org members will show up in red.
