The overwhelmingly popular indie project, Phasmophobia, has come a long road to reach where it is now. After announcing a console release a few months earlier, the developers have acknowledged that they plan to increase pricing on PC to match the console version.
The price tag for Phasmophobia will be increased to $19.99 on Steam from September 6, 2024. While the game will remain in Early Access, the full version is planned for release later this year.
Phasmophobia has been in the Early Access phase for 4 years, and the price tag has been fixed at $13.99 for a long time, but regarding all the content and features added throughout the recent years, the price increase seems like a fair deal for players who want to join the game from now on.
The console version of Phasmophobia is expected to be available during the Halloween event, later in October 2024. It is yet to be seen whether the full version will launch on the same day, or if the developers need more time to complete the job on the 1.0 build.
Playable in both single-player and multiplayer modes, Phasmophobia is a first-person psychological horror experience, where players need to track paranormal activities using special ghost-hunting devices to find the source of anomaly.
On PC, Phasmophobia supports VR mode next to its standard vision, and the same experience will be possible on PSVR 2 as well. The game will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, skipping last-gen consoles.
Kinetic Games made it clear recently that they have not decided whether to put their game on Xbox Game Pass at launch. So, it is still a possibility.
