Update: The PTU patch is now live. Check out the patch notes here.
As confirmed by CIG’s Wakapedia, the next build for Alpha 3.24.3 on the PTU channel for Star Citizen will add both RSI Polaris and Starlancer MAX as flyable ships. The update is expected to launch either today or tomorrow.
Additionally, Wakapedia also confirmed that both ships will be rentable for free during IAE 2954 when their manufacturers take over the show floor. In the PTU build, only players who already own either Polaris or Starlancer MAX will receive access to the ships.
No comments were made about the Imperator subscribers, but they may also receive access to these new ships in the PTU build, though it might be unlocked for them when the patch is closer to launch on live servers.
Polaris will be the first ever capital ship to be released in the PU, and players are excited to finally see how it feels to fly with a capital ship in the ‘verse.
On the other hand, Starlancer MAX is a new cargo hauler from MISC and is considered the big brother to Freelancer MAX. A combat-oriented version of it will also be available in 2025, Starlancer TAC, which also comes with a hangar for Fury-sized snub fighters.
Starlancer MAX is currently available for pre-order as a concept ship. It costs $250, and anyone who purchases the Warbond edition will also receive the CitizenCon 2954 paint for free. The offer will be available until November 19. The ship comes with 224 SCU of storage, divided between two different cargo bays. It will also feature hab areas for up to 4 crew members.
Polaris, on the other hand, is not on sale at the moment, but it will be available again when IAE 2954 goes live, especially on the same day that RSI will host the expo. The last time Polaris was on sale it cost $750. It comes with a hangar for light fighters, lots of Torpedoes, a bunch of Point Defense turrets, and a big cargo bay.
