Rainbow Six Siege To Reportedly Get Weapon Inspection With New Exotic Skins

by Cole Phelps

The ability to inspect weapons and fully check out the weapon skin in-game is something that Rainbow Six Siege fans have been asking for since the early years of the game, and now it seems Ubisoft will finally deliver it if the recent leak from dataminers turns out to be true.

According to Shiny on X, a Rainbow Six Siege dataminer, the game will receive weapon inspection in Year 9 Season 4, but it will be locked behind a paywall! Apparently, the ability to inspect weapons will be exclusive to certain new skin sets called Masterpiece Bundles.

The weapon skins that come with the Masterpiece bundle not only allow players to inspect their weapons but also feature a unique reload animation. There is no information on how players could earn these skins.

The dataminer also claims that a new Exotic rarity will be added to Rainbow Six Siege. So, we can probably guess that Masterpiece Bundle skins will belong to this new tier, but it is unknown if players would have a chance to obtain Exotic cosmetics from Alpha Packs. Currently, all items of all rarities can be earned through Alpha Packs, except for the Elite skins.

Furthermore, the leaks claim that a new version of Elite sets will be available in the future that are called Arcane Elites. These versions will simply include the Elite skins as before, but they come with an animated Background Card as well as a weapon charm of Masterpiece Bundle. It is yet to be known whether the Arcane Elites will feature the actual Masterpiece skins though.

As always, we suggest you take all this information with a grain of salt. Ubisoft has not confirmed any of the leaks above. Even if they are true we will not get any official announcements until the Year 9 Season 4 reveal panel goes live, which will probably happen later in November or earlier in December this year.

Thus far, Shiny has leaked numerous things about Operation Twin Shells, most of which have been true, but a leak from the next season couldn’t be as trustworthy. Even if it is true, there are always changes in plans in the development studios which could result in delaying certain features or completely removing them from the pipeline.
