As the universe grows in Star Citizen, the importance of having a ship or vehicle with a medical bay becomes more clear for the citizens, especially those who are seeking to complete FPS operations and quests.
After CIG decided to allow all medbeds to become respawn points regardless of their tier, the demand for cheaper ships with medical beds grew significantly, which is why, every player now considers to own an RSI Ursa Medivac at the very least.
Currenlty, the only difference between medbed tiers is the amount range they cover for respawn, other than the injuries they can heal. Tier 3 medbeds will respawn the player if they die within 20km from the bed. This range is 50km for a Tier 2 medbed. No range has been announced for Tier 1 medbeds yet.

There are only 5 flight-ready ships or vehicles that feature a medbed in Star Citizen at the moment, but with upcoming release of RSI Polaris this number will increase to 6. There are a bunch of ships with medical beds that will be available in 2025, including Misc Starlancer TAC, RSI Apollo series, and the medical variant of Terrapin.
The need for ships with Tier-1 medbeds become more sensible in Star Citzen, especially with growth of risky FPS missions and quests since Alpha 3.23 and the addition of Distribution Centers.
Tier-1 injuries completely limits the player’s actions. A Tier-1 arm injury, for example, will prevent the player from shooting a weapon, climbing up a ladder, or even punching the enemies. And nothing can heal it other than a Tier-1 medical bed.
