Star Citizen 3.23: All New Keybinds

by Cole Phelps

Star Citizen Alpha 3.23 brings a lot of new features as well as some quality-of-life improvements to the game. While we are quite happy about that, the new update messes up with the keybinds.

Not only do some existing functions now perform when pressing a different key, but you also need to learn what keys trigger the gameplay functionalities added recently. The list below will make your job a lot easier, but it is not complete yet. We will update the new keybind list as we spot more changes over time.

Now that you know the new keybinds for the ships, it is good to learn a few tricks as well to have a smooth flight experience in the game.

  • Your ship’s speed will never go over 30 m/s as long as your land gear is deployed
  • If you activate the new Gimbal Mode, your fire rate will be reduced
  • Shooting in Precision Targeting mode will further reduce your fire rate
  • Your ship’s max speed will be significantly reduced in SCM mode
  • To fully scan a ship, you should hold the ship crosshair over it until the highlight in scan mode turns purple
  • Your ship’s shields will not work in NAV mode

Master Modes is not a huge update to deal with, but it needs a few days until you can get used to it and know what’s what. This new way of flying ships, however, brings major balance to the combat, as you can no longer easily escape from the battlefield, or use your ship’s sheer maneuverability to your advantage.
