Star Citizen 3.24.2: All New Keybinds

by Cole Phelps

Star Citizen Alpha 3.24.2 brings a lot of new features to the ships with the MFD rework as well as some quality-of-life improvements to the game. While we are quite happy about that, the new update messes up with some of the keybinds.

Not only do some existing functions now perform when pressing a different key, but you also need to learn what keys trigger the gameplay functionalities added recently. The list below will make your job a lot easier, but it is not complete yet. We will update the new keybind list as we spot more changes over time.

Updated on October 18, 2024: The list now includes new keybind changes from Alpha 3.24.2. Also, at the end of the article, you will find a guide on how to fire multiple ship weapons simultaneously.

How To Fire Multiple Weapon Groups Simultaneously

With the introduction of Weapon Groups in Alpha 3.24.2, players can assign each weapon to up to four different groups. However, the fire button, which is the Left Mouse Button, will fire all groups in the beginning.

In order to add a fire button to each weapon group, open the Options menu and head to Keybindings. Here, find the Vehicle – Weapons category, and look for the following options:

  • Weapon Presets – Fire Guns Group 1
  • Weapon Presets – Fire Guns Group 2
  • Weapon Presets – Fire Guns Group 3
  • Weapon Presets – Fire Guns Group 4

You need to assign a keybind to each one of these groups. If you want to have only two fire buttons, assign a keybind to the Weapon Presets – Fire Guns Group 2. Then head to your MFD settings on the ship and assign some of the weapons to Group 2. Also, make sure to tick them off from the default group.

In case you want to bring back the original firing preset with LMB and RMB, this will affect the Precision Targeting Mode which is now assigned to RMB. You can change this binding in the Vehicle – View.
