One of the flagship new features in Star Citizen Alpha 3.23 is the access to the new massive structures on planets known as Distribution Centers, evolving the existing Mercenary, Delivery, and Investigation missions even more.
While they are not fully functional at the moment, you can deliver small cargo to Distribution Centers, search its creepy maintenance tunnels and investigate evidence for finding missing people, or accept a combat mission to defend or attack Distribution Centers for different purposes.
While Investigation and Combat missions of Distribution Centers are available from the get-go through the Investigation and Mercenary tabs on your Contracts menu, unlocking access to Deliver missions needs some progress.
How To Get Distribution Center Delivery Missions
You will first need to accept and complete two or three normal Delivery missions. Make sure to accept those missions from a single company, as you need to win their trust by improving your reputation. A company like Northrock is pretty great for deliveries.
After completing a few delivery missions, you will begin to receive 12K missions, where the destinations sound a bit new. Keep in mind that Delivery missions will not explicitly call the colossal buildings Distribution Centers, but if you see any of the phrases below in your destination’s details, then rest assured that you will be heading to a Distribution Center.
- Greycat Production Complex
- All HDPC branded locations (Only on Hurston)
- Sakura Sun Workcenter
- Dupree Industrial Manufacturing Facility
- Covalex Distribution Center
- Cryo-Astro Processing Plant
- MicroTech Logistics Depot
So, all the alternative names above indeed point to the same Distribution Centers that we all love to visit, but every brand just prefers to call it in their own way.
Now, bear in mind that the current Delivery missions for Distribution Centers do not include cargo hauling, and you can simply complete them with a starter ship that has enough space for a few supply boxes. Cargo Hauling currently targets a release with Alpha 3.23.X.
Last but not least, there is a bug currently in the EPTU build of Alpha 3.23, where some Distribution Centers recognize you as a trespasser when delivering a package. This problem will prevent you from landing on the Distribution Center pads and completing your mission.
