Star Citizen 3.23: All New Ships In Invictus Launch Week 2954

by Cole Phelps

This year’s Invictus Launch Week is quite special, as players will be able to witness two massive ships made by Aegis Dynamics and RSI up close. While neither Idris-M nor Polaris will be flyable, but you can feel their scale like never before.

Along with the two giant birds, you can expect some smaller new ships and vehicles to steal the show this year at ArcCorp’s Bevic Expo Center. We will keep updating this post if any new ship announcement occurs during the show.

Mirai Pulse

Officially announced before Alpha 3.23 releases, Mirai Pulse is the latest grav-lev vehicle in the verse for surface traversal. Also, Pulse is the tiniest hoverbike to ever exist in Star Citizen, making it accessible to all ships, even those without a cargo space!

Mirai Pulse is already available at the Pledge Store, but you can rent and try it for free during the Invictus Launch Week if you are dubious of how well it fits into your explorations.

Mirai Pulse comes in two variants: the basic one features a Size-1 noes weapon, while the LX variant sacrifices that weapon for higher speeds as it is aimed to be a racing vehicle.

RSI Ursa Medical Variant

Teased briefly in the Invictus Launch Week trailer, the medical variant of Ursa does seem to be another surprise for those looking for a ground vehicle capable of curing their wounds.

Of course, this variant of Ursa will come with at least one medical bed, and regarding the upcoming changes to the medical beds and the regeneration points, every player in the verse would love to have one medical Ursa in their ships when they accept FPS quests like bunkers and distribution centers.

More details on the new Ursa will be revealed when RSI’s day arrives at the expo, but expect it to be seen more than any other ground vehicle in the verse in the near future.

Aegis Saber New Variant (Firebird)

Teased only a few days after Alpha 3.23’s launch, the new variant of Aegis Saber is probably the biggest surprise of Invictus Launch Week that comes as a playable thing.

While the speculation around the teasing tweet suggests that it should be named “Firebird” or something similar, the bigger question is what would be the difference between the new variant and the existing ones?

The base version of Saber is a stealth fighter, but it also has a Raven variant that comes as an Interceptor with higher agility and EMPs. There is a Comet variant as well, that replaces the base model’s repeaters with cannons and scatterguns.

This new fourth variant of Saber seems to be identified with its red trims around the edges, and that could mean a lot of different things, to be honest!

Argo MPUV-1T

After MPUV Cargo and MPUV Personnel, Argo brings a new variant of this small-sized ship to help with the loading and unloading of cargo boxes.

Argo MPUV-1T comes with two tractor beams, one in front and one in the back. The front tractor beam can be controlled easily like a salvage arm from the pilot seat, while the rear tractor beam has its own remote turret, and is used for grid management.

MPUV-1T can carry a total amount of 16 SCU, and every size of cargo box easily fits into its grids, except for the 32 SCU boxes, of course.

Most of this information was collected thanks to this amazing video from the YouTuber MrKraken, which offers a quick and helpful look at this new ship.

Aegis Idris-M

When Invictus Launch Week kicks off, all players can participate in a free tour of Aegis Idris-M with the operating crew. While you can fly the ship or sit behind its turrets, you will be able to visit the interior of this giant gunship.

With 7 manned turrets and a shield capable of absorbing over 1.5 million units of damage, you will easily lose your trust in existing gunships such as Hammerhead, Redeemer, or Valkyrie as soon as you board this killing machine.

The Quantum fuel tank of Idris-M is big enough to allow you to travel over 850 times between MicroTech and ArcCorp without a single refueling!

RSI Polaris

Not as big as Idris-M, but RSI Polaris is a capital ship that many players are eagerly waiting for its arrival to the PU. While you won’t be able to board this one during Invictus Launch Week, a fleet of Polaris will roam around in space. So, you can at least get close enough and compare your size to this upcoming capital ship from RSI.

Carrying up to 28 Size-9 missiles, RSI Polaris is a scary bomber if you ever decide to mess up with it. The ship comes with 5 manned turrets and 2 remote ones, along with a hangar capable of hosting all small and medium fighter variants, as well as a few of the heavy ones like Scorpius.

The development of Polaris still continues and we have no clue when we expect it to drop, but with Alpha 4.0 promised for this year, a lot of progress could be made towards ships, hopefully.
