Star Citizen 3.24 Buffs Santokyai SCM Speed But Nerfs Its HP

by Cole Phelps

TLDR:

  • SCM Speed, NAV Max Speed, and Thrusters for Santokyai received a buff.
  • The ship’s original Yengtu laser repeaters were nerfed by 10% DPS-wise.
  • The body HP of the ship was also hit by a nerf.
  • Santokyai will now have 20% higher IR and EM signatures.

Cloud Imperium Games released the Alpha 3.24 update to the Star Citizen PTU last night, allowing Wave 1 testers to gain access to the new patch, and with that came a lot of new details and footage about the new patch.

When it comes to the ship balancing, Santokyai has received a mixture of buffs and nerfs in Alpha 3.24 to address some of the issues that players had with this relatively new alien fighter in the verse.

According to the stats provided by Erkul, the SCM Speed, SCM Forward Boost, and Nav Max Speed have all been buffed, but on the other hand, the developers have nerfed the ship’s SCM Backward Boost as well as its body HP.

PartsValues
SCM Speed220 -> 227
SCM Boost Speed Forward480 -> 493
SCM Boost Speed Backward250 -> 225
NAV Max Speed1,150 -> 1,161
Body HP4,610 -> 3,676
EM Signature11,814 -> 14,177
IR Signature13,647 -> 16,376
Thrusters9.22 G -> 11.06 G
Total DPS960 -> 864
Yengtu Laser Repeater DPS240 -> 216
Alpha162 -> 146

So, while the ship will now feel more agile thanks to a significant boost in both the main and maneuver thrusters, the overall DPS rate is less significant, mostly due to the nerf applied to the ship’s original Yengtu laser repeaters. So, if you want to bring back that original DPS rate, you will have to upgrade the weapons to something better, like the CF-337 Panther.

While Yengtu is not as powerful as before, CIG has buffed the DPS for CF-337 Panther, Attrition 3, and NDB-30 laser repeaters. So, it’s safe to say that all replacements for Yengtu have been buffed, and running Santokyai with the original loadout would be nothing but madness. Here are the stat changes for the aforementioned weapons:

WeaponSustained DPS Value
Attrition-3356 -> 505
NDB-30302 -> 360
CF-337 Panther240 -> 252

Keep in mind that this is only the first patch in Wave 1. There will be more builds for Alpha 3.24 down the line and the stats above might change in the live version of the update.

That being said, we will keep this post updated if any more changes are applied to Santokyai with future builds.
