You can now download the EPTU version of Star Citizen Alpha 3.23 via RSI Launcher and enjoy your time testing all the new features and providing feedback to the developers.
Keep in mind that the launcher will show both the PTU and EPTU versions available, but you need to download the EPTU version as the PTU build is not live yet. It appears to only be a bug with the new launcher at the moment.
Star Citizen Alpha 3.23 brings a massive amount of new features and some quality-of-life improvements to the game, despite leaving behind some anticipated gameplay mechanics like Instanced Hangars and Cargo Elevators.
With the EPTU version available to all backers now, we can expect the live version to be available quite soon. This Friday, the developers will hold an online Q&A session on Twitch, answering all the community’s burning questions about the upcoming patch. It is expected that we find out whether there will be a wipe in Alpha 3.23 or not.
With the recent changes in the economy, including salvage income and ship prices, it remains unknown how the developers plan to compensate for the increased amount of grind to buy high-tier ships. However, this was indeed an expected balance change as most top-tier ships like A2 Hercules or Reclaimer were already available for not hefty prices.
How To Get Access To EPTU
Make sure to copy your account to the PTU build using this link. Once you receive a confirmation email after copying the account, a new PTU password will be delivered to you via the same email, which is the one you need to use when logging into the RSI Launcher to play the EPTU or PTU build.
Everything you earn in the PTU build will be saved on your PTU account, leaving your main account untouched. Hence, all your progress in the EPTU or PTU build will be wiped once the live version of the patch comes out.
In case you want to change something on your EPTU or PTU account, use the link in the confirmation email to log in to the PTU version of the RSI website. This will allow you to change your new PTU password to something that you prefer.
If you don’t want to download all the data from the ground up for the EPTU build again, you can rename your LIVE folder inside the Star Citizen installation path to EPTU and verify your game files, to only download the update.
