When it comes to base building in Star Citizen, players will use a certain machine like a hover trolley called Craft Cart that can be deployed everywhere on a planet. Once deployed, players will gain a top-down view of the environment, allowing them to place and build the type of buildings they want to construct.
Powering up bases with generators is a key part of building a home. Generators must be supplied with resources and fuses to keep operating.
In order to set up bigger bases with massive industrial structures, players will first need to build a construction base, which is a tall building accessed by an elevator. From the command center of this base, players can build industrial structures of medium size like a refinery, a mining station, a storage with a freight elevator, or even a personal hangar!
Players who own the base will be able to grant access to other players to use the structures on their base or even make new buildings.
A trading center is another exciting base that players can build. It will contain a series of materials, items, and even crafted vehicles that players can list for sale. Other players can visit the shopping center and interact with its dedicated terminal to purchase whatever they have for sale.
Customization will also be a big part of base building. Players can place construction decals where they want to guide the visitors. Paints can also be earned in-game to customize the look of the buildings.
Aside from industrial bases or business districts, players can also build farming and ranching bases, rest stations with ship repair/refuel services, and military bases.
Claiming land in lawless systems like Pyro will be free, as everyone can build base everywhere, but the UEE controls system like Stanton will charge players for claiming land, and in return, the land will receive protection from UEE.
