The latest EPTU build for Alpha 4.0 delivers a fix to one of the most annoying issues of Misc Prospector that has been haunting miners for quite some time now.
Upgrading the ore pods in Misc Prospector is not possible through MobiGlass, and they need to be changed manually. However, the pod holders on Prospector were designed in a way that prevented players from easily attaching or detaching the pods.
Now, CIG has changed the design for the pod holders in the latest build of Alpha 4.0, and this will eventually allow players to detach the old pods and attach bigger ones without a headache.
That being said, the problem with ore pods spawning inside the freight elevators has not been fixed yet, which is the next big problem with changing the pods on a Prospector. Not that it doesn’t have a workaround, but players still lose at least a few pods before they can fully replace all of them.
Aside from the slight Prospector fix, the Star Citizen developer has now increased the backpack sizes by 50%. This will allow players to even put weapons inside bigger backpacks, including sniper rifles.
On the other hand, however, the size of the armor parts, including core armor has been reduced significantly. The reason behind this change is to add more value to backpacks and encourage players to use them. This will also make backpacks more worthy for looters, especially those who hunt for weapons.
Alpha 4.0 is currently available for Wave 2 testers. It is yet to be seen when the new patch will launch on the live servers, but if it’s supposed to be released this year, then the game should be released before December 20, as it is usually the last working day for CIG stuff before holidays.
