Cryptokey is an electronic hard drive that is mostly used in Star Citizen to hack systems or operate them for whatever purpose you may have. Usually, you will need a cryptokey while doing illegal activities, and it can be purchased from a variety of players in the verse.
While some illegal missions such as Comm-Array takedowns already provide you with a location to get a cyrptokey from, it is always suggested to purchase plenty of cryptokeys and store them in your local inventory, especially if you favor unverified quests over legal ones.
Data Grab, Comm-Array Problem, and Black Kite are some of the missions that involve hacking into network systems. You can also use a cryptokey to raid Security Post Kareah and erase crime records to wipe your Crime Stat.
Factory-Line, New Babbage, MicroTech
Land on New Babbage and get on Metro Loop to reach The Commons. Follow the signs towards The Plaza. This will lead you to the round entry of the Factory Line in the center of the Plaza. Take the spiral stairs down and look for the vitrine with Tigerclaw cryptokeys.
Technotic, GrimHex
Take the elevator to the lower floor in Grim Hex, and look for the entrance on the left side of the Admin gate. You will spot an arrow spray on the wall once you get past the entrance. Follow the arrow and open the first door on your right.
Head inside and pick up your Tigerclaw cryptokey from the vitrine.
Cubby Blast, Area 18, ArcCorp
After landing on Riker’s Memorial Spaceport, use trams to go to the ArcCorp Plaza, follow the Retail sign until you reach a square with Casaba Outlet on one side and Cubby Blast on the other side.
Use the terminal inside the Cubby Blast and search for “Tigerclaw” to purchase your cryptokey.
Bunkers
Before getting into the details, keep in mind that not all the bunkers feature cryptokey. However, most of them feature a cubic lootbox, similar to the image above that often contains one or two cryptokeys if no one has looted them yet.
This is not the best way to grab a cryptokey, but rather a good practice to look for them if you regularly do bunker missions around Stanton.
Comm Array Missions
One last way to get a cryptokey is to accept missions where you are tasked to hack a Comm Array. These missions provide a secondary target for players where they can pick up a cryptokey from a Reclamation and Disposal Center.
Basically, accept the mission, head to the location to pick up the cryptokey, and then feel free to abandon the quest. This is a useful method for players living in Hurston, where purchasing a cryptokey requires a long travel to any of the other planets.
