Star Citizen: How To Get Ship Showdown 2024 Ships For Free Fly

by Cole Phelps

TLDR:

  • Ship Showdown 2024 is live until August 22, offering 16 ships to test fly for free.
  • You can claim the ships by visiting this link and then signing into your account.
  • Those who do not own Star Citizen will need to enlist by creating a new account.
  • The voting process for the Ship Showdown event is currently live as well.

Ship Showdown 2024 has already begun and now we know what ships have made it to knockout rounds. While the voting process continues in the upcoming days so that we finally get to know this year’s favorite ship in Star Citizen, CIG also allows all players to have fun with all the ships in the knockout stage for a limited time!

There are 16 ships and vehicles in Ship Showdown 2024 that are available for free to all players. These ships, however, will not be automatically added to each player’s account, as you must do it manually through the website.

How To Get Ship Showdown 2024 Ships

All you need to do is to head over to this page on Star Citizen’s official website. If you already own the game and have an account, then click the “Sign-In” button and log in to your account. Now, you will be redirected back to the same page, and this time around, click on the “Claim” button at the same position. And, you’re all set!

Players who don’t own the game should proceed with the “Enlist” button on the same page. Since the Ship Showdown event also features a Free Fly event, you can create a new account and play Star Citizen for free until the event ends. Keep in mind that the game packages are also discounted for the duration of the event.

Ship Showdown 2024 will remain live until August 22. After this date, players will lose access to all 16 free ships and vehicles claimed from the event. Here is the list of available ships and vehicles:

Star Citizen Alpha 3.24 is still in the PTU testing with Wave 2 promised to receive access pretty soon. With the arrival of this patch, players can expect personal and customizable hangars, freight elevators, storage access kiosks, and cargo-hauling missions.

Along with these major changes, there will be smaller tweaks as well. Star Citizen will now allow players to buy decorative items like tables, chairs, and more. Some of these items can also be placed inside ships.

Moreover, CIG aims to add more rentable ships to the game, including Vulture, Reclaimer, Caterpillar, Hull C, Mole, and even the legendary Carrack. More details will be shared about this when we are closer to the release of Alpha 3.24 on live servers.
