Star Citizen Increases Pioneer Price And Removes Land Claim From The Pledge

by Cole Phelps

Following the recent changes in the pledge prices for Star Citizen ships with the launch of IAE 2954, CIG recently announced that CNOU Pioneer will also get a price increase once it becomes available for pre-order during CNOU Day.

According to CIG, the price tag for Pioneer will increase by $75 to cover the ship’s rework and its new capabilities that were showcased in CitizenCon 2954.

That being said, the Pioneer pledge will no longer include the UEE Land Claim License Estate Parcel for an 8km x 8km land in one of the UEE-controlled systems. However, those who have pre-ordered Pioneer earlier will still keep the land claim.

Moreover, the Greycat Estate Geotack-X Planetary Beacon will also be removed from Pioneer’s pledge moving forward. CIG promised to provide more details on how players can obtain both of these removed features in-game once base-building is about to launch.

CNOU Pioneer Rework in Star Citizen

As you can guess, the community response was somewhat mixed. While some players appreciate the heads-up and find the new price in line with Pioneer’s new capabilities as the only ship that is able to build Space Stations in the endgame, some other players believe that it should’ve been announced much sooner than now.

“When you committed to giving us have a heads up, the intent was to give us a chance to get it PRIOR to the increase,” reads a comment from Capt_Snuggles on Spectrum, criticizing CIG for not giving a chance to base-building enthusiasts to pick up the ship before the upcoming changes to the pledge.

The CNOU day will go live on November 27, and Pioneer will be one of the Stock-Limited ships. With the new price increase, Pioneer is now expected to be available for $925 at IAE 2954 unless CIG offers a Warbond edition at a lower price. Also, since it’s a stock-limited ship, players will not be able to CCU to Pioneer.
