Star Citizen’s Overdrive Initiative Final Phase To Begin After Invictus

by Cole Phelps

The Initiative Overdrive is the first multi-stage event in Star Citizen, and while it had a roughly successful period in Alpha 3.22.1, the final phase of the mission is supposed to be available once Invictus Launch Week 2954 concludes, which is sometime after May 29.

According to Cloud Imperium Games, players will still have time until then to complete the previous phases of the mission. This is indeed a good decision by developers as a considerable amount of players did not manage to complete the final mission of the last phase due to a bug preventing them from sending cargo via the kiosk in the Stanton-Pyro Jumppoint.

With the arrival of Alpha 3.23, the notorious bug has been eventually fixed, and anyone can now complete this quest to benefit from the worthy rewards once the final phase comes to an end.

If you manage to complete all phases of the Overdrive Initiative, you will be rewarded with a 7-day free rent of Anvil F7A Hornet Mk 2 as well as a full set of XenoThreat armor. Also, if you already own the F7C version of the fighter through the pledge, you will receive a free upgrade token to the F7A variant.

Overdrive Initiative offers a wide variety of tasks in each stage of a phase, including FPS combat, ship combat, and delivery objectives. The final mission of the last phase had players resupply and get prepared for the final battle against XenoThreat, which is going to be pretty huge.

Regarding the fact that game servers become pretty heavy whenever a Free Fly kicks off in Star Citizen, it was a wise decision by the developers to push the XenoThreat activity back, as having both Invictus and XenoThreat could push the servers really hard and prevent players from having a smooth experience.
