Starlancer TAC Hangar Will Only Fit Fury, CIG Confirms In Q&A

by Cole Phelps

Star Citizen developers recently talked about some of the community’s burning questions about Starlancer TAC, especially its hangar size, that seems to be a point of debate among fans.

According to the ship’s Q&A page, the hangar in Starlancer TAC has been specifically designed to only fit Mirai Fury. CIG avoided sharing the exact dimensions for the hangar, but the wording implies that players not be able to park anything other than a Fury variant inside the hangar.

The developer compares Starlancer TAC’s hangar to Carrack’s hangar in the way it is supposed to operate. The hangar on Anvil Carrack is too short in height that only a C8X Pisces can fit in. So, the dimensions for TAC’s hangar are also expected to be only a little bit bigger than a fury.

Other than the hangar, the Q&A also revealed more details about the ship’s weapons. The pilot on Starlancer TAC will control 4x Size-4 Weapons along with 12x Size-3 missiles. On the other hand, the ship also features two remote-operated missile turrets located on each side of the rear ramp. The missile turrets can be run using AI Blades, once that tech is available in Star Citizen.

When it comes to the top turrets, each one will cover 180 degrees. The ship doesn’t have any turrets on the underbelly, but the remote-operated missile launcher will be able to partially cover threats coming from beneath.

Regarding the ship’s quantum travel capabilities, Starlancer TAC comes with a quantum fuel tank that is 25% bigger than the other variants, which allows it to travel longer distances in space.

Starlancer TAC Drop Seats

The rear cargo ramp for Starlancer TAC will be identical to that of MAX, coming with 96 SCU of cargo grid as well as enough spare room to fit an Ursa rover in between the cargo boxes.

The drop seats for Starlancer TAC will come down like an elevator when deployed, just like the cargo bay in MAX.

Starlancer TAC is currently available for pre-order. The ship is priced at $330, but a Warbond edition can be secured for $295 along with a CitizenCon paint until November 19.
