The First Descendant: How To Claim Beta Participation Rewards

by Cole Phelps

Before launching across all platforms globally, The First Descendant had two big beta tests in 2022 and 2023. If you are among those who helped Nexon by participating in the beta sessions, there is a special surprise for you in the game.

Nexon gives away exclusive in-game cosmetic items to all players who played the beta versions, but your rewards will differ based on your activity level in the beta tests.

How To Claim Beta Participation Rewards

Run The First Descendant and head to the Mailbox in the Albion. Here, you can claim rewards if you have already played the beta versions. The list below shows the rewards for each beta session:

  • Rewards For October 2022 Steam Beta
    • Participation Reward:
      • High Five emote
    • Void Intercept Battle Completion Reward:
      • Frost Walker Hunter – 2 Titles: Groundbreaking (Prefix) and Explorer (Suffix)
  • Rewards For September 2023 Open Beta
    • Participation Reward:
      • Send Heart emote
    • Descendant Level 20 Reward:
      • Bear Cub back attachment
    • Void Intercept Battle Completion Reward On Hard Mode:
      • Passion spawn effect
    • Survey Participation Reward:
      • Trendsetter head skin for Bunny

So, the only way you could obtain that cute bear cub backpack was by leveling up your character to Level 20 in the Open Beta test back in 2023. You surely didn’t know what a lovely item you would receive for grinding levels in the game back then.

Nexon has not specified a timeline for claiming the rewards, which is why we assume you can claim them any time after launch for the foreseeable future.

Developed by a South Korean team, The First Descendant is a multiplayer co-op looter shooter that launches with multiple heroes and distinct regions, where you follow different quests and slay mutated monsters.

Despite being a third-person shooter, The First Descendant shares some similarities with Destiny 2, which could help it to grow faster in the market, especially knowing that the game launches as a free-to-play experience.

The First Descendant will launch with 8 regions and 14 playable characters, While no roadmap has announced yet, the developers plan to expand the game’s content through post-launch updates.

Featuring crossplay at launch, The First Descendant will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on July 2. You can already start preloading the game’s data.
