The Sims 4 has been out for nearly 10 years now, and it has received an abundance of post-launch expansions and packs in this long period, but it is still crazy to think that purchasing all these kits, packs, and expansions even in Steam Summer Sale with lots of discounts still charges you over $800.
Well, The Sims 4 has been there for a long time and most of these expansions also existed, but the colossal price tag for all the post-launch content was brought to our attention by the Reddit user parmesan777 when they posted a screenshot of all of The Sims 4 packs that come at a cost nearly 1200 Canadian dollar.
A few years earlier, Electronic Arts decided to make The Sims 4 a free experience, but with 83 packs, kits, and expansions launched, the company knew it best that players who like the free-to-play content will likely purchase at least a few of the packs or kits too.
The cheapest kits currently cost $5 and there are a lot of them, while the most expensive expansions are priced at $39.99, though most of them are discounted by 30% or 60% at the moment, and still the sum of the DLCs almost $814 in the US currency.
Out of all 82 DLCs, Electronic Arts has discounted 47 of them. This only covers expansions and packs, as none of the $5 kits have received a discount.
Another interesting fact about all these kits, packs, and expansions is that only 25 of them have a Steam user rating of Positive or higher. So, even if you are eager to play all the content, you might only end up liking a small number of them in the end.
Maxis, the developer behind The Sims 4 has already started working on The Sims 5, which is the next mainline entry in the series. We have no clue about the game’s possible release window, as it is still pending an official announcement with a trailer.
However, the game has had some closed testing sessions since the production phase was started, but it doesn’t hold off Maxis from launching new kits and packs for The Sims 4.
